THE IMAGE OF two figures floating in the sky came from a search on Google. To see it yourself, go to www.maps.google.com and search for this location: 47.110414,9.235253
When you see the “A” cursor, click on it, then click “street view” and then a photo will appear of a road with a cloudy sky. Use your mouse pointer to search the sky a bit and you’ll eventually see the angels.
Thanks to Eggie for providing the tip, and Karuna for sending the photo. What if you don’t believe in angels? Well, TS thinks it might be bird poop on the camera.
Anyway, your humble narrator is going to restart his regular newspaper column in September, and am looking for topics. Google Map oddities could be a good one, although if we go for that, let’s try to find fresh ones. Another good topic might be corporations with a sense of humor – is Google the only one? Are there other examples?
There have been some other current news stories with potential, such as the report that scientists discover that you can switch your ears off and on.
Anyway, do send any good ideas or comments about things worth probing, and I’ll get to work with some investigating.
Thanks also for recent comments and suggestions. Grandpa – I enjoyed your comment under the previous posting, about skimming the wave tops in your plane – very creative.
In the meantime, a reader stumbled on an audio file of me talking during the Shanghai International Literary Festival (below). Feel free to skip it unless you are interested in the topic: it’s just five minutes of chatter on Asian English, Singlish, and how your humble narrator came to write The Feng Shui Detective.
Have a great week. Be crazy.

This picture is a picture of angels , allright..

Definitely bird droppings. It's on all the pictures along that stretch of road. It even obscures the ceiling lights in a tunnel a bit further down the road.

O of course, you can try to get directions from China to Taiwan... look at #56, it tells you to "SWIM across the Pacific Ocean"! and the same will appear if you get direction the other way around!
